My First Ebay Win

I have been looking into exactly what I want to do with homeschooling (all the curriculums and the like) and I really like Charlotte Mason's philosophies. I borrowed Charlotte Mason Companion from a friend just to make sure of my desires to use this method. I read the first chapter and thought, "I wish I could highlight in this book." I read the second chapter and thought, "This is a waste of my time. I KNOW I want to use this method. I need to have this book so I can mark it up." I stopped reading and jumped on ebay. Now, I own a copy of this book and can mark it up and set up Libby's homeschooling and have it for the most part ready by the time Libby is ready for school. Yea!

Stumble Upon

I stumbled upon Stumble Upon. Ha ha! No, seriously, this is such a cool website. You download their bar and mark your interests and then when you hit the sumble button, it chooses a random website that fits into your interests. It's very addictive. Give it a shot!

Ready for College

We would never pressure Libby into going to any certain college, but our kids do have a heritage at Purdue. Daddy, Grandma Tucker, Aunt Juli, Uncle Jay AND Aunt Judy ALL graduated from there. Grandpa Tom and I are the only two left out in the cold. So, here is a picture of Libby Lynn in the outfit her grandma and grandpa bought her for Christmas. It's a tad bit big on her, but she still looks good in it.

That's Just Not Nice

The other day Libby was running her fingers through my hair. We were talking while she was doing this and I eventually asked her what color my hair was. Her answer? Yeah, GRAY! Did her daddy help her with that answer? I mean, come on now!

Dress Up with Libby

I got an email from a good friend who reads my blog and it reminded me that I needed to make a post or two. Besides, kids Libby's age are too hilarious not to hear from too often, right?

Anyway, we are part of a program called Parents As Teachers and we LOVE it. They visit twice a month and have so many fun, cute things to do that educational as well. This week Kristi brought over dress up clothes. I wondered how well that was going to work...here's how well it worked. Libby LOVED the shoes (or slippers, as she called them) and liked the necklaces...she wouldn't even TOUCH the dresses. I love that little girl. She's so predictable sometimes.

As for the money, I'm not even sure I should tell you about that. Alas, it's too funny not to tell. :) Kristi asked Libby what she was going to spend it on and she said, "A pumper". Kristi gave her a funny look and it took me a second to figure out what she was talking about. Yeah, she wants a pump, just like mommy's. If you're a mom, you know exactly what I'm talking about. She told Kristi that she was going to buy a pumper for her, one for daddy and one for Grace at the college store. Wow! I love kids. I love to hear the things they come up with. It's just so funny!

And the winner is...

RYAN NEWMAN!!! Finally, he has broken his losing streak of 81 losses. What better race to do it with than the Daytona 500? Yes! We are back in action. And how about Sam Hornish Jr. finishing in 15th? Not too bad for a rookie. I am so excited to see that Hornish Jr. has made it to the big leagues now that he has "mastered" the IRL. I have a vested interest in the boy for the mere fact that he calls Defiance, Ohio home and that's where I called home for three years. I graduated from college at Defiance College and that is where Chris and I lived for the first 2 1/2 years of our marriage. My first house is in Defiance. I loved living in Defiance. :) Happy memories...but I diverge from the topic. Way to go Newman! Way to go Hornish Jr! I'm looking forward to an awesome year in Nascar.

Thank You An Iowa Mom

An Iowa Mom posted earlier this week about an $8.98 sale at Steve and Barry's. So, I decided to see if I could find some jeans that fit...I am SO sick of wearing maternity. I found two pair my size. YES!!! I have actual jeans again.

All Packed Up

She is so cute all bundled up for the cold weather. I'm still ready for the warm weather though. I bet she'll be just as cute without being all bundled up.

Here she is with all of her clothes on. She's actually kept them on all day. This is a feat!

In the Waiting

When Chris and I built in Indiana, we had an AWESOME builder! If we could have brought her with us here and had her build for us again...we would have. Unfortunately, that wasn't a posibility. So, we have been waiting and waiting to see this magical house appear. It hasn't! We both are so frustrated and just want this to be done with. So, on my way to bunco tonight, when I heard this song, I knew that God meant it JUST FOR US! I'm sure that some of you have things going on in your life that you could feel like this song is JUST FOR YOU too. Without further ado, here is FFH with "In the Waiting".

Who's Who?

Which one is Grace and which one is Libby?

It's been up long enough. Libby is in the top picture with daddy and Grace is in the bottom picture.

On Her Own

Libby has a new mode of transportation and a new house all of her own. Here's a few videos of her independence.

Such Warmth

Here is a picture of our door jamb on the back door. We woke up to a temperature of -8 F with a wind chill of -40 F this morning. Our house is so well insulated that this is what happens whenever it gets cold. Not to mention that the vent over the stove blows the cold straight in to our house as well. Maybe we'll have a warmer house next winter. We can only hope.

Just for Jenny

Last night we were getting ready to go to church to set up for MOPS and Chris was asking if the doors would be unlocked since there was no All Stars last night. I said that if the doors were locked we could just call Jen (a friend of mine here) because she has a set of keys. Libby looked at me really excitedly and said, "We get to see mine friend, Jenny? Yahoo!" I asked her who she was talking about and she reiterated her friend Jenny. I asked if she meant Indiana Jenny and she said, "Yes! Indiana Jenny! Mine friend Jenny!" I told her that it was Logan's mommy, Jen and she said, "Oh, that's ok." So, Jen, your present to her must have pulled her in. :)

Plodding Along

Speaking of the house, here is our progress from January. Not quite as fast as we would like to see, but patience IS a virtue after all. At this rate, Angie, you will be in your house LONG before us. :)

My Girlie-Girl

In anticipation of our eventual move I decided to start looking at bedding for Libby's room. I found a site with decent prices and cute "girlie" bedding. I liked quite a few of the designs so I called Libby over to see which designs she liked. Yeah...here ya go. NOTHING else was good enough for her. What am I going to do with that little girl? She's out of this world!

Gifts Galore!

These are just a few of the many gifts we received. My mom made the afghan in the top picture and the hats that are on the girls' heads were made by our good friend, Jenny. Just thought I'd share.
