Grace's Rose

My dad made the girls roses out of duct tape. They were quite cute and Grace was enthralled with hers! She would smell it and talk about how good it smelled. She would let (or is that make?) everyone else smell it so they could know how good it smelled. She would swing it all around the vehicle. And, then...she would stretch it as far as she could and say, "Grandma, smell my rose." GRANDPA would say, "I'm grandpa, but I'll smell your rose." Then, we would repeat the above sequence...again and again again. :)

Oh yeah, the girls were there, too!

Grace did sneak on for a bit without John realizing. :)

My little animal lover!

Help please!

Tractor?

I think John might like tractors. We have not "tried" to make him like them...he just does. These are only a few of the pictures of John on the tractors at Young's Dairy. There are quite a few more. Not to mention, at one point another little boy got on one of the tractors...oh, no, you just didn't! That was John's response as he vaulted toward the tractors from the goats to scream at the little boy. As for his sisters, they weren't allowed on the tractors without John screaming at them either.

He's totally waving to the cars on the road in this picture.

The Cry Spot!

So, lately Grace has just been throwing fits at the drop of a hat. Anything can trigger that girl! To try to cut back on that and make her think bofore she falls apart, we have created a "cry spot". She can cry as long as she wants...as long as she is sitting on the couch. (Side note: Chris doesn't like this cry spot. He feels it's a bit too public. Gotta find a new one soon for his sanity.)

Anyway, after a few days of implementing this, she seems to be responding. Yesterday, I only had to send her to the cry spot once...and it was at the very end of the day. Daddy was sitting next to her and when he heard that it was the first time for the day, he asked her if she'd like to be held instead. She didn't respond...UNTIL, Libby could be heard crying out from the kitchen, "I want held!" Then...it was down to business as she JUMPED on to daddy's lap, sprawling across it, to make sure that Libby couldn't be "the one" being held. Wow!

The Results?

I think the zoo trip may have wiped them out! They woke up fairly quickly for the stop at Krispy Kreme, though.
